Team leaders and Supervisors must align their unit’s efforts with the organisation’s goals and strategies and create a work environment in which employees are committed, feel pride and take ownership. This poses new challenges and requires new skills from those needed for success as an individual contributor: a transition many first line leaders do not feel sufficiently prepared for.
Supervisory training is a valuable tool to help people master the basics of management. Soar! takes the development of first line leaders a few steps further by focusing on the internal and value shifts required to achieve results through others.
The programme helps team leaders and supervisors grow in competence, confidence and commitment. It empowers them with the knowledge, skills and mindset to work effectively with others and to motivate and develop them. It increases their personal commitment to the organisation and its goals and inspires them to approach their role with pride and enthusiasm.
Soar! enables the first line leader to be more successful in their role and derive greater meaning from their work. It also nurtures leadership talent and prepares people for the next leadership level. It can therefore be a valuable tool in helping organisations nurture and grow their leadership talent.
Changing behaviour is a process, not a once off occurrence. Our learning approach is therefore staggered and blended, combining face to face training with 180 degrees feedback, practical assignments, interactive coaching circles, buddy coaching and management support. This approach ensures sustainable transfer of learning back into the workplace.

“The impact was extremely positive with participants describing the programme as being immensely valuable and a true eye opener. Some regional managers came back to me after some time stating that they could clearly see the impact of the programme on their people. One e.g. said he tried for 7 years in vain to change one of his store managers and the programme did it in 4 days.”
Elzaan Pretorius, HR Development Manager, TFG (formerly The Foschini Group)
“Thank you for the fabulous Soar! The feedback from our supervisors was that they found the programme valuable and insightful and we have already seen the impact of the training in the improved awareness in leadership and the level of engagement amongst participants.”
Alana Ferguson, Group HR Manager, DataCash
